Shaky cam, but 🤷🏼‍♀️

I'm #CurrentlyReading Wired for Story & To Love and to Loathe. What are you reading today?

#AmReading #TeaAndBooks
I meant to start one of the books in yesterday's stack, but alas, a library hold came in and I couldn't resist jumping in.

I'm loving this historical romcom! The tropes, the banter, all of it.

(I will admit that I am reading this series out of order, oops)

My romance TBR stack - print version! (I have a massive Ebook version too...)

I'm really excited for all of these. Which have you read?

My first priority is the arc up top so that I can post about it in August when it releases. But which book should I prioritise next?

Do I have a huge stack of unread books at home AND a library holds list a mile long? Why yes, I do.

Did I still buy this book today? Why yes, I did.

It's not hoarding when it's books.

Reading and pup snuggle break while the little naps.

I'm slowly working my way through Creativity, Inc., which I'm reading for my book coach certification.

It's an intriguing perspective on creativity, leadership and the power of failure/mistakes by one of the founders of Pixar.

It's definitely giving me some things to think about both for working with author clients and in my own business and writing.

What books have made you think lately?

This account is mostly about books and writing. It's #bookstagram after all. And I'm a writer, editor, and book coach in training.

But this account is also a place to share about my life and speak about things that are dear to my heart. One of those things is pregnancy loss.

Today is the 4th anniversary of my experience with stillbirth. I birthed my son, my firstborn, knowing that he was already gone and would never get to grow up.

On his birthday, we celebrate that he existed and the joy his pregnancy brought us. We also grieve the loss of everything we dreamed for him. Our tradition is cupcakes.

This year hits very differently for me. I'm overjoyed that I finally have a living child. But I can't help but miss Hudson when I look at her and wonder what kind of a big brother would he be.

I'm also grieving for friends who have experienced stillbirth, TFMR, and miscarriage this year. I'm grateful to be a safe person for them to talk to about their experiences but also devastated that any of us had to join this club.

Pregnancy loss hits everyone differently. The pain of it may be short-lived or long lasting. Let me be clear: it is no one's fault when they experience pregnancy loss and however they choose to grieve and keep living is okay. Some will be public about it like me. Others will keep the experience private. It's all okay.

If you have experienced pregnancy loss and need someone to talk to, my DMs are open. ❤️

My #CurrentlyReading is more than my usual. But when library holds come in, you jump on them.

I'm slowly working my way through all three of these books. Usually, I only have two on the go at any one time. But I was reading two nonfiction books for my book coaching course when Weather Girl became available and I knew I needed some romance to take some breaks from the more dense reading I was doing.

I'm hoping to finish both ebooks in the next few days, as I need to return them to my library soon and I have already downloaded another romance novel to read.

What are you reading this week?

My most recent read: Gilded by Marissa Meyer.

I fell in love with Marissa Meyer's writing when I bought Cinder from an airport bookstore. I adored that series (The Lunar Chronicles) and then flew through her other YA series, The Renegades.

And then I started reading more and more adult contemporary romance and didn't read much YA.

I finally decided to try out Gilded and hoo-boy, this fantasy is so much darker than I'm used to. Some of the images she paints are morbid at times but fit perfectly with the story she is telling. This story is dark and hopeful and magical.

I cannot wait for the sequel that comes out later this year.

Let's try this again!

I started this book last year as part of my @authoraccelerator book coach training but ended up having to put it aside because it was just too dense for me at the time (hello, pregnancy brain fog).

I'm stoked to dive back in and actually retain some of it this time.

This will be my nerdy book for the month and will check off my goal of reading at least one non-fiction book each month.

What's your first book of July?
