Note: While I am part of some affiliate programs, none of these subscription box companies have paid me to tell you about them. I just think subscription boxes are a lot of fun. And I’m dreaming of one day actually being able to afford to try these out and give them as gifts.

Another note: BUT – if any of these companies are open to sending me a box for an honest (and probably super excited) review, email me! I’d love to review them and help these Canadian companies out.

Subscription boxes are the gift that keeps on giving throughout the year.

If you celebrate Christmas, you might be starting to feel the pressure. As much as I’d love Christmas to be all about the family time, the beautiful decorations, the birth of Christ, the gorgeous songs…it’s a pretty commercial holiday. Gifts are kind of expected.

If you’re trying to figure out what to get the hard-to-shop-for folks in your family, I’m here to help.

Getting mail is a ton of fun! It’s really exciting when you open up your mailbox to find more than just flyers for furnace cleaning or pizza delivery.

Now, imagine it’s a gift you’re receiving and it’s full of a surprise bunch of items related to a topic you love. How much more special is that piece of mail?

There are so many amazing subscription boxes out there, for any fandom or interest or age or demographic.

The problem for us Canucks, though, is that a lot of subscription boxes are based out the United States and between exchange rates and exorbitant shipping costs, it becomes incredibly expensive to get a subscription box (and forget about getting a couple of them). But don’t worry, I’ve got your back.

I’ve tracked down a ton of Canadian Subscription Boxes for you!

Some of these Canadian ones are still a little pricey, in my opinion. But, you do seem to get quite a bit. (Yet another note: if any of these companies want to send me boxes to show me how much value you pack in, I’m down!).

And, bonus, you’re supporting a Canadian Small Business. It’s a win for you and a win for them – small business owners tend to do a little happy dance to celebrate every sale.

A lot of these businesses also support other small businesses by including their items in the boxes.

And, a ton of these subscription box companies also donate portions of their proceeds to charities close to their hearts. How cool is that?

Canadian Subscription Boxes that Make Great Gifts

Over the next two weeks, I’ll be posting about a whole host of Canadian Subscription Boxes for you (I’ve found 84 of them online!) to help you get your holiday shopping done with just a few clicks.

Order a one-off box, a three-month subscription, a six-month subscription or be super generous and order a 12-month subscription and you won’t have to worry about getting that family member or friend a birthday gift.

It’s totally cool if you’re not looking at these posts to find gifts for friends or family but rather to find a gift for yourself. I fully support spoiling yourself every so often.

Keep in mind, shipping schedules for some of these might mean the first box doesn’t get delivered until January, or at the very least, after Christmas, but you can always wrap a note explaining the gift in a series of progressively larger boxes to place under the tree and create an equally fun and entertaining gift opening experience.

Have you ever given or received a subscription box?
What was that experience like?

Gift Guide: Canadian Subscription Boxes

  1. Wow, I had no idea there were so many Canadian subscription boxes. Seems most of the ones I’ve heard of are based in the States and thus have ridiculous shipping fees to Canada or won’t ship here at all.

    • I felt the same way, so I started searching. 🙂 It’s always nice to find a Canadian option, and one where shipping doesn’t cost more than the items in the box.
