Read-a-thon Success – What does it look like?

This past weekend, I participated in #24in48. It’s a 48 hour read-a-thon with the goal of reading for 24 of those hours.
Sounds pretty tough, right?
It is.
Did I make it to 24 hours?
Sure didn’t.
I made it to 8 hours and 46 minutes.

Trisha’s July 2018 #24in48 reading count.
Nope.
Did I succeed at the read-a-thon?
Yup.
Now, you’re probably asking why I think reading a measly 8 hours towards a 24 hour goal is success. Well, let me tell you. I read. That was the goal. To read. As much as I could. Between life, errands, housekeeping, and sleeping (I’m pregnant, guys, I need my sleep) – I only managed to read for 8 and a half hours. But I read. So I call that success.
What did I read?
I finished reading the play Gloria’s Guy by Joan Burrows (thanks to Playwright’s Canada Press for the copy!), which I will post a review of soon.
I also read about half of From Twinkle, With Love by Sandhya Menon. I’m listening to this one on audio and it is simply wonderful.
And, I read a good chunk of Sadie by Courtney Summers (thanks to Raincoast Books for the advance reading copy!). This book is INTENSE. I don’t read a lot of thrillers but I’m really glad I’m reading this one. I’m stoked to see how it ends and to share a review with you all soon.

Good job! Pregnancy is exhausting so 8 hours is fantastic! I’m glad to hear that you’re enjoying Sadie – I was sent a review copy and wasn’t sure about it since I feel like I’ve grown out of the really angsty YA books, but Summers is Canadian so I think I should give it a go. I loved From Twinkle, With Love!

Thanks! 🙂 I don’t read a lot of thrillers, so I was unsure about Sadie but I’m loving it so much! I definitely recommend.
