How is 2018 half over already!?
Not that I’m complaining – I’m very excited for November. If you missed it, here’s why.
June was a pretty good reading and blogging month for me. I read a few books, DNF’d a handful, and had a huge haul. I was also pretty consistent with my blogging with 2-3 posts each week. I’m pretty happy with myself.
What was in my June 2018 book haul?
I was super stoked to get a bunch of books for review and to buy a few books too. And, of course, I made use of my local library. If you don’t have a library card, why not?! Stay tuned for reviews of a lot of these books.
- Sadie by Courtney Summers
- The Darkest Star by Jennifer L. Armentrout
- The Magic of Melwick Orchard by Rebecca Caprara
- Jane Austen: Her Heart Did Whisper by Manuela Santoni
- Delilah Dirk & the Turkish Lieutenant by Tony Cliff (review)
- Delilah Dirk & the King’s Shilling by Tony Cliff
- Dragons at Crumbling Castle by Terry Pratchett
- Small Town Rumors by Carolyn Brown
- The Heart of the Garden by Victoria Connelly
- Puddin’ by Julie Murphy (audio)
- Leah on the Offbeat by Becky Albertalli (audio)

What did I read in June?
- Anatomy of Animals by Dave Kellett (review)
- Warcross by Marie Lu (review)
- Beard in a Box by Bill Cotter
- Delilah Dirk & the Turkish Lieutenant by Tony Cliff (review)
- Delilah Dirk & the King’s Shilling by Tony Cliff
- Fire by Kristin Cashore
- The Heart of the Garden by Victoria Connelly
All in all, by the end of June, I’ve read 42 books this year toward my Goodreads goal of 100 books in 2018. I’m still behind. I didn’t read as much on my vacation as I’d hoped (but still had a wonderful time!). If I catch up, awesome. If not, no worries. I’m having fun reading and that’s what’s important.

Book Reviews
Along with the book reviews linked above, trishajennreads featured a few book reviews.
The lovely The Bookshop on the Corner is about a woman who picks up and moves to the middle-of-nowhere-Scotland to start a little bookshop of her own and bring the joy of reading to the folks in small isolated communities.
Hilarity ensues in Anna Kendrick’s memoir Scrappy Little Nobody, in which she tells stories about how she came to be the famous actress she is today. I listened to this on on audio, narrated by the author/actor herself and it was delightful.
The Lightning Thief is an action-packed and funny middle grade novel about a boy who finds out he’s the son of a Greek god and is the centre of a pretty heated argument amongst the not-so-ancient gods.
Top Ten Tuesday
I only did one Top Ten Tuesday last month, but had fun writing about books to read by the pool or on the beach.
Random Bookish Topics
I’ve already diverted from my planned summer TBR, but I’m totally okay with that.
A Lifestyle Post – say what!?
I’ve been playing around with adding more lifestyle content to trishajennreads and had so much fun making a pom pom garland that I wrote a how to post! Did you see it? Did you try it?

My first homemade pom poms!
What do you think? Should I add more lifestyle content to the blog?
