How is a month of 2018 already done and gone?

I’m shocked that it’s already February. Where has the time gone?

I didn’t add a lot of books to my shelves this month (especially not compared to last month’s haul) but I did get a few library books and borrowed some from friends.

What was in my January 2018 book haul?

What did I read in January?

At the end of January, I’ve read 8 books this year! My goal is to read 100 books in 2018. We shall see if that happens.

In case you missed it

In December, I posted a whopping 20 blog posts. I think that may have been a few too many, but I did post daily #BoutofBooks read-a-thon updates, so that was a large part of the increased number of posts.

Book Reviews

Top Ten Tuesday

Along with those reviews, I also joined Top Ten Tuesday again and wrote about new to me authors I read in 2017, books I meant to read in 2017 but will actually read in 2018, my bookish resolutions and goals for 2018, and books I’m surprised I read.

24 in 48

I also attempted the 24 in 48 read-a-thon (to read for 24 hours within a two-day period) and failed spectacularly with a total of 5 hours and 21 minutes. I had a weekend full of social engagements (and dirty bathrooms to clean), so didn’t read as much as I’d hoped. But, I’m still glad I jumped in and tried it. I will definitely try to meet the goal next time around.

All in all, it was a pretty good reading and blogging month for me. Trying out two different read-a-thons was a great way to start the year. And, I now have a huge backlog of book reviews to write for you to enjoy in the next month or two. I’m going to try and draft a handful of them this weekend to schedule into the coming months so I can give myself a few more evenings to read instead of blog. 🙂

How was your first reading month of 2018?
