It’s a challenge. I’m not sure I can do it. But I’m going to try.
The 24 in 48 Read-a-thon is a challenge to read for 24 hours in a 48 hour span.
The read-a-thon is January 27 (today) through January 28 (tomorrow). The official start time is 12:01am ET on Saturday and the official stop time is 11:59pm ET on Sunday. I’m participating in Mountain time (which translates to 10:01 pm MT on Friday to 10 pm MT on Sunday.
I’m going to try and and read as much as I can, but I also have a bunch of life happening this weekend.
Pro-tip from the 24 in 48 website: It really doesn’t matter if you make the 24-hour goal. The real goal is to dedicate time to reading. (That being said, there are prizes available for those who do make the goal.)
Tracking my read-a-thon participation.
Participation in the 24 in 48 includes using a timer or stopwatch to accurately track how much time I read for. I’m going to use the stopwatch function on my iPhone.
Pro-tip from the 24 in 48 website: each time you stop the stopwatch, take a photo or screenshot of it just in case you accidentally reset it.
Follow along with me as I read!
I’ll be posting about my progress on Twitter all weekend. So will lots of other people! It’s another fun way to build community among readers.

I’ll add an update to this post when I’m done and let you what the experience was like.
