It’s time for another readathon!
I’ve only participated in a few readathons, but I think they are such a fun idea. They are about building community and making friends while doing what we all love doing most – reading. Usually, readathons are about reading as many books as you can in a certain amount of time, whether it is hours, days or weeks.
Tome Topple is different.
Tome Topple is all about tackling those huge books (500+ pages). It’s not about how many books you read, but rather about finally picking up that huge book that’s been scaring you.
As the Goodreads group says,
The whole point of this readathon is to read big books (over 500 pages). You don’t even need to read a lot of them. You don’t even need to finish one. The point is that we are all reading those big daunting books at the same time and supporting each other.
This is brilliant!
Readathon Rules and Challenges
As with most readathons, Tome Topple has a timeline and a few rules and challenges to make it even more fun.
It will run April 7 to 11:59pm in your timezone on April 20.
The only rule: All books read need to be over 500 pages!
1. Read more than 1 tome
2. Read a graphic novel (that has over 500 pages)
3. Read a tome that’s part of a series
4. Buddy read a tome (use Goodreads and Twitter to find buddies!)
5. Read an adult novel
My Tome Topple TBR
I’m definitely being too ambitious. I know this. But I can’t bear a TBR that isn’t at least three books. I doubt I’ll be able to read all of these, but I will read what I can. 🙂
My Tome Topple TBR is:
- A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas (I’m rereading in preparation for book 3!)
- The Luminaries by Eleanor Catton
- Ship of Magic by Robin Hobb
