OH MY GOODNESS! I put this book down at the end my lunch break and bombs are going off. WHAT?! This book picks up immediately after Six of Crows and is so good. I’m loving seeing the character further develop, learning more about their backstories, and seeing the emotional turmoil as they try to figure out what they believe and what they feel. And, the humour! Bardugo knows how to add humour in at just the right moments.

I am loving this book! I had to DNF The Selection. And I’m so glad I did. This book is much more my style. It is snarky and adventurous. The version I’m listening to is read by Wil Wheaton, and he’s really good. My husband read this book last year, and loved it’s nostalgia and focus on video games and nerd culture. I don’t understand all of the references, but I’m still finding it really fun and funny.

Novel (in print): Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo

This book was a lot of fun. It was intense, it was adventurous, it was full of schemes and humour and interesting relationships and characters. I was excited to finish it and be able to immediately start the sequel (this doesn’t happen for me very often).

I picked this one up at Emerald City Comicon earlier this month and will definitely be jumping into it as soon as I can. I’m eager to have more Iko in my life!

After so much fantasy, I may need a bit of a break. That’s where this little beauty comes in. It promises to be a pleasant read, still with a bit of adventure to keep it fun, but also a little more realistic. It’s a feel-good book with a romantic element, and will be the perfect palate cleanser before I go on to the other fantasy books on my TBR.
