Today’s topic is: 2017 Debuts I’m excited for

I’ll be honest, most of the books I’m currently looking forward to in 2017 are either already on my shelf or are books that are by establish authors and/or completing series that I’ve already started. I love reading new authors and discovering more books to read and buy, but I’m in a place right now in which I need to pause that endeavour a little (or at least slow it down) so I can work my way through the TBR that is threatening to topple. (Seriously. My mobile phone now autocorrects “the” to “TBR”…)

However, there are a couple of books by debut authors I’m very eager to read this year. They are:

1. Caraval by Stephanie Garber

Caraval sounds so legendary. It’s about two sisters who end up in a a dangerous game that could end with one of them disappearing. This book promises to be both magical, romantic and adventurous!

I’ve seen this book on social media for a while now and Stephanie is so sweet and fun on Twitter.

2. Wicked Like Wildfire by Lana Popovic

Wicked Like Wildfire first caught my eye on Netgalley because of its absolutely stunning cover. It’s another book featuring sisters and magic and powerful forces. I tried to get an early copy and failed, so I’m definitely marking this one down to discover in 2017.

3. The Hundred Lies of Lizzie Lovett by Chelsea Sedoti

The Hundred Lies of Lizzie Lovett sounds like a completely absurd tale. And that’s why I want to read it. Oh, and the cover is gorgeous too. (I definitely have a thing for covers.)

What amazing debuts do I need to add to my list?

  1. Lizzie Lovett looks really good! I have that on my wishlist, too. I haven’t really paid attention to who is a debut author from those on my list. I’ll have to check that out! I do know that I started out with something like 5 books on my 2017 release wishlist and now I have about 35 or so. They all look so good!
