Oh hey! Welcome! This post is Part Two of a little squee session I’m having over bookish subscription boxes. If you’d like to read Part One, you can get to it by clicking that pretty pink text you just read.
We’ve all seen them. The myriad of wonderful, beautiful, exciting, tempting bookish subscription boxes out there. What’s not to love? They combine two of the most joyful things in the world–books and mail.
I would love to subscribe to so many of them. But exchange rates and shipping to Canada quickly brings the cost of some of them to nearly a hundred bucks a month. And I’m trying to not spend all my money on books because, well, mortgage payments, groceries, insurance. (Time for a plug: if you’d like your box featured on trishajennreads platforms, let me know! I’d love to rep.)
Here are some of the bookish subscription boxes that I’ve seen mentioned on Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest. There are too many to list in one post. Read Part One here and stay tuned for a Bookish Subscription Boxes for KIDS post next month.
All details about these boxes are found on their respective websites. All prices and shipping costs are for the month-to-month option. Many of the services offer three, six, and twelve month prices. I have not been sponsored in any way to talk about them. I just think they are really cool and have had a ton of fun reading all about them and drooling over pictures of what came in each box.
Beaulitful Reads box is a monthly book subscription box that includes a recently released romantic chick lit book and a few book inspired items from small shops to go with it. All subscribers also get access to an online book club to discuss the book. This box is all about the feel goods of romantic reads. Beaulitful Reads cost $24.00 USD per month plus shipping ($15.00 USD to Canada).
My Book Box
My Book Box is a monthly subscription box with not one but two books! Each box also contains some info or item that goes along with one of the books and a special gift. You get to choose two books from different genres (women’s fiction, mystery, non-fiction, young adult, children 8-12 and children 3-7). It can be for you and your kid, your kids, or you and your partner or spouse! How fun is that? My Book Box costs $39.95 USD per month plus shipping ($19.00 USD to Canada).
Novel Tea Club
Novel Tea Club is all about creating the perfect night in. Each month, subscribers get a new book in the genre of their choice (romance, science fiction, fantasy, or young adult), a tasty beverage (tea, hot chocolate, coffee), and some goodies to set the mood for a relaxing night in (candle, bath bomb, snacks, that kind of thing). Novel Tea Club is $35.99 CAD per month and ships from Canada! But the shipping still costs extra.
The Bookworm Box
The Bookworm Box also includes two surprise books and bookish swag. Oh, and those two books are autographed! This monthly book subscription box was started by romance author Colleen Hoover. All profits from the sales of this box goes to charity. How cool is that?! The Bookworm Box costs $39.99 USD plus shipping.
My Lit Box
My Lit Box is a monthly book subscription featuring authors of colour. Awesome, right!? Each box contains a new book and a couple of bookish goodies. My Lit Box costs $25.00 USD plus shipping, but currently only ships to the United States. (Sad day!!)
Hello Book Lover
Hello Book Lover is a book subscription box just for women. It comes with a book and two to three surprise goodies each month. Hello Book Lover costs $28.00 USD plus shipping, but currently only ships to the United States (Super sad!).
Cozy Reader Club
Cozy Reader Club is all about the me time. Each month, subscribers receive a new hardcover women’s fiction novel, some coffee, tea or hot chocolate, and some handmade gifts and tasty treats. Cozy Reader Club boxes are $64.95 USD plus shipping ($39.99 USD to Canada).
I’m so sad that some of these don’t ship to Canada. But then again, the cost of shipping for some of the ones that do is sadly prohibitive. How do you budget for things like this? Because, seriously, I really want some.
