Top Ten Tuesday is a feature hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week a community of bloggers all create posts around a common theme. Everyone is welcome to get involved. Feel free to join in!

Today’s topic is: Ten Books You’d Buy Right This Second If Someone Handed You A Fully Loaded Gift Card

There are SO MANY books on my TBR and my wish to own list. Here are a few of them… I don’t know how much is on that fully-loaded gift card, but here’s hoping it’s a boatload of money.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and Quidditch Through The Ages by J. K. Rowling

I haven’t read these yet and I really want to! They sound like such fun companions to the series.

A Harry Potter Collection

This isn’t technically a book, it’s seven. But I have a mismatched set of used copies and I’d love to go get a pretty matching set. Alas, this is something that keeps getting pushed to the back burner for other books I haven’t read yet but really want to read/own.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, Illustrated Edition

This is definitely the theme this week. But I’ve been admiring this illustrated edition for months and months. It’s so pretty! And I think it’s the perfect way to introduce a younger kid to the story. And older kids…and adults. Ha! I just love me a pretty book.

The Lake House by Kate Morton

I need to add this one to my collection of Kate Morton books! I really love her mix of historical, contemporary and mystery. I borrowed this one from the library and now I need to own it.

The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

I listened to this book on audio and really, really enjoyed it. Narrated by death, it’s definitely got it’s own style. I’d like to get a print copy to grace my shelf and see how the experience of reading this book is different from listening to it.

My Lady Jane by Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton, Jodi Meadows

This book sounds so fun and I’ve heard so many good things about it. I was able to read a preview and, gah! I love how they’ve revised history to add in some fun fantasy elements.

Crown of Midnight, Heir of Fire, Queen of Shadows, Empire of Storms by Sarah J. Maas

I own Throne of Glass and The Assassin’s Blade but haven’t bought the others. I wanted to make sure I really liked them before I bought the whole series. Now that I’ve read all of them but the newest, yet to be released Empire of Storms, I definitely want to complete my collection. But…my first two are paperbacks and most of other the others are still only available in hardcover…do I buy a mismatched series?

The Complete Calvin and Hobbes Collection by Bill Watterson

My husband loves Calvin and Hobbes so much. He’s even suggested them as names/decorating themes for our future children. I’d love to buy him this collection (I’d totally read it too!), if I had a gift card. The hardcover edition is $175.00 regular price.

What books would you buy right now if you had a loaded gift card?

  1. My collection of Sarah J. Maas books is kind of irritating, but I couldn’t wait until Queen of Shadows came out in paperback to read it, and I figured I probably wouldn’t even think twice about waiting for Empire of Storms so I’m half and half. Queen of Shadows fits lovely with my ACOTAR Hardcovers though, so it’s all good.
I’ve been eyeing the new Harry Potter paperbacks in Chapters recently – they’re so beautiful and soft and make my heart swoon every time I see them! I definitely second buying a new set. I would die happy.
Wal Mart has 40% copies of the Book Thief (that’s where I got mine ;D)

    • Ahh, Katelynn! Don’t tempt me! I’m not supposed to be buying new books. My TBR is so long already and so many of them are already on my shelf…. But I want that one sooo bad… And pretty, new matching series… Oh the temptation.

  2. I am trying to complete my Throne of Glass series collection as well! I have a few of them and some are paperback, so I would love some extra money to make it all look pretty with hardcover editions. I think that this would be a hard post to write because I want all the books! 🙂
