I picked up far more books than I expected last month! It’s amazing how the list adds up when you actually write it out. Between birthday money, bookstore dates, bookish friends, and Netgalley, my bookshelves are filling up.

My April 2016 book haul includes

Print Books:

Books for Review

  • Ooko by Esme Shapiro (Netgalley)

Library Books

Borrowed Books

Signed Books and Author Events

Along with getting new books, my bookish collection and experience grew this month. My new copy of Eleanor and Park is signed by the lovely Rainbow Rowell. This is the first time I’ve owned a signed book. I was stoked when I found it online and was able to order it.

I also went to to a fabulous author event with Sam Maggs (The Fangirl’s Guide to the Galaxy) co-hosted by Wordfest and Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo where I met Sam (my first author meet and greet!) and got my second book signed.

Have you read any of these books? I’ve only had the chance to read some of them so far. I’m quite looking forward to reading the rest of them. Especially Passenger. I’ve heard so much about it!

What books did you add to your shelves this month?

  1. Hope you enjoy Crown of Midnight! Heir of Fire was personally my favourite, but Queen of Shadows is awesome too. *swoons*
I’m thinking I may pick up ACOTAR because I’ve heard so much great feedback about ACOMAF, and seeing as I enjoyed Throne of Glass it’s probably just as amazing!
I’m incredibly excited to see what you think of Rainbow Rowell’s books! I have Eleanor & Park rented but still haven’t gotten around to reading it.
    Great book haul! 😀

    • I really liked Crown of Midnight! And now I’m waiting for Heir of Fire. I’ve had it on hold at my library since Apr 5 and I’m currently number 14 in line for one of the five copies. Hopefully I get it soon!

I highly recommend ACOTAR and ACOMAF. I enjoyed ACOTAR and I’m in the middle of ACOMAF and loving it. There is some cool character growth and some heat… 😉 I’m not sure yet which I like better, ToG or this series. I’ll have to wait to finish ToG first.

And YES to Rainbow Rowell books. I’ve now finished Eleanor & Park and Landline and they were so different and I really enjoyed them. It’s fun to read such a range, from Fantasy, to contemporary YA, to Adult… I love reading across genres. 🙂
